Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y’all’s neighborhood
If you can’t put your finger on the opening text, scroll down to the bottom and cheat! It’s quite thrilling if I do say so myself. Brace yourselves, Halloween is coming! The stores are already starting to put out their Halloween goodies this year and I could not be more excited. I’m already starting to creep around my favorite store’s websites, anxiously awaiting for them to put up their seasonal decor.
Here’s what’s on my Halloween wish list so far:
Pottery Barn’s Spooky Halloween Icon Salad Plates, Set of 4 – I usually don’t go for orange items, but the prints on these are what stood out to me the most. They look like something you’d see in vintage Halloween photos. They caught my eye, I can’t explain it.
Pottery Barn’s Alligator Skull Serve Bowl – this looks like something that belongs on the set of Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice, right? It’s different and that’s why it makes the list. “This is my art and it is dangerous. Do you think I want to die like this?”
World Market’s Paper Pulp Skull Container – I want to pick up at least two of these to spray paint and use them as storage containers, much like my DIY Skull Makeup Brush holder tutorial that I will be simplifying real soon. [Not pictured]
X-ray glassware from West Elm – These are on par with what I look for in classy Halloween decor. After all, for me Halloween is in style all year round so I need pieces that are sturdy and not tacky. Here we’ve got the gold rim, and they’re made out of glass. Not melamine. Gimme gimme! *grabby hands*
And whosoever shall be found
Without the soul for getting down
Must stand and face the hounds of hell
And rot inside a corpse’s shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom
And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller
Can you dig it?!
The quotes are Vincent Price’s lines from Michael Jackson’s Thriller, for the unfamiliar. What are some of your favorite places to hit up for Halloween decor?
