I recently got into Lush bath products. I tried Lush way back in 2008 or 2009 but it never really stuck. I admit I had no idea what I was doing then. I’m ashamed to admit that I now am “one of those girls” that have fallen victim to the “Lush trend” that’s been a thing lately. I don’t even care, no regrets. Self-care is the best care.
I take a lot of baths normally, but now I take even more. The colors, the fragrance and shimmer makes baths addicting. I would literally just bathe in water before… rarely bubbles, rarely anything. I just love baths!
Here’s a video of Phoenix Rising…
the very first bath bomb I’ve used. This turned the bath water shades of pink and purple and very shimmery. The scent was cinnamon overload (because there’s bits of cinnamon in the bomb itself). Here’s the description for this majestic little guy: “This Bath Bomb is a tribute to our belief that great things can rise out of the ashes, just like the mythical Phoenix. Royal purple and gold-dusted, with a cinnamon stick in the center, this gorgeous bomb sinks to the bottom of the tub when you toss it in, and slowly rises up, fizzing out a spicy apple and cinnamon scent.”
This next one is Dragon’s Egg.
It spun, shimmered and released an explosion of golden shimmer. The fragrance was very fruity and sweet. It released what look like dime-sized colored sprinkles, which slowly melted and turned kind of gooey. I’m not sure what the point of those were. The description of this one on the website is exciting in itself: “Unleash fire and bathe in a whirlpool of magnificently vibrant, sizzling color and a spectacular explosion of sights, sounds, and scents. Inhale the refreshing sherbet-y citrus scent of lemon and bergamot; you’ll feel like you’re up and away on the back of your own dragon. This mystical Bath Bomb fizzles, crackles, curls, and ends with a glitter explosion. “ Mmmmhmmmm.
Time for Twilight.
While the colors are pretty (I love pink & blue), I wasn’t terribly impressed. The fragrance was very lavender which is perfect for sleepy-time (I kinda wish it was fruitier and/or more floral, but that’s just me.) Here’s the description for Twilight: “Recreate the magic of a starry night in your bath water with clouds of lavender and tonka absolute to fight the demons of insomnia and soothe your stressed out body and mind. Our most relaxing Bath Bomb yet, Twilight is our gentle, reassuring hug for the bath to transform you from worn out to warm and fuzzy. It changes color like the sky at dusk, from pinks to purples and darker still. Lay back in the comforting herbal waters to soak your troubles far, far away.” I like the description more than the actual bath bomb, it feels like a fairytale, right?
This is my most recent trial (last night) FIZZBANGER!
I absolutely loved this one. Very citrus-y. The colors were amazing and it spun around a few times. There was a little sheet of paper inside that said, “Bang!” which I thought was cute. The description on Lush.com says: “Transform your ordinary bath into something new and exciting. Whizz! Bang! Pop! Fizz! Our Fizzbanger Bath Bomb goes off in the bath water as if it were loaded with miniature fireworks. Experience an alluring symphony of crackling candy, and a potion of spectacular slow fizzing spectrum of swirling color. The scent changes right before your nose, pulling you in with a delectable blend of crisp apples and cinnamon that settles into a spicy cinnamon toffee. ” Well, they’re not lying.. it was pretty exciting.
Before you remind me how expensive Lush bath products are, let me just say that there are many makers and sellers of bath bombs all over the internet. Etsy, for example. The bath bombs you get at some shops there are much smaller (about half the size for half the price). My baths are quite important to me, and I don’t want to skimp on quality. If I find bath bombs comparable to Lush for a cheaper price, I’ll let you guys know.
I made another Lush order the other day, I’ll be getting 6 more bath bombs and a bubble bar to try! I’ve still got five or so left from this order to try out. I’m so excited! I’ll definitely be making another post about those… I’ll probably make a post her batch until I try them all. Then I’ll move on to bubble bars, massage bars, etc. until eventually I’m not a Lush newbie anymore. If anybody ever wanted to get me a gift… Lush is pretty genius. Just sayin’.
