For BEDM I’m going to share the blog love today. This is something near and dear to my heart because I’ll never pass up an opportunity to learn more about what I’m into; so this post will be valuable as heck to a lot of you!
When I get into something, I really get into it. When I first got into blogging, I studied day in and day out, searching for ways to master my craft. As any student should, I grabbed as many blogging, business, design or writing books as I could. I compiled a list of books to read if you’re on the same path; these will benefit anybody into the blogging scene.
- How to Style Your Brand: Everything You Need to Know to Create a Distinctive Brand Identity
- Blogger Babes Blog Essentials Series
- Everything But The Posts
- How to Blog for Profit Without Selling Your Soul
- How to Make Money Blogging
- Pro-Blogging Secrets
- My Blog Traffic Sucks
I love to read books written specifically for women, by women. While a lot of women’s products are expensive and unnecessary, I enjoy a lot of women’s inspirational and self-help type stuff because it’s different for us girls in the business world. Social conditioning plays a huge role in how we react in situations that can help us further our careers (for more on this, read Playing Big by Tara Mohr).
- Yes, Please
- Leave Your Mark
- I Am That Girl
- Girl Code: Unlocking the Secrets to Success, Sanity, and Happiness for the Female Entrepreneur
- You Are A Badass (another MUST)
Because I haven’t gotten a chance to read them all yet, here are some promising books that are currently on my wishlist:
- Content Rules
- Everybody Writes: Your Go-To Guide To Writing Ridiculously Good Content
- The Blogger’s Survival Guide
- Radical Self-Love
I get all of my books on my Kindle, in e-book format. My real bookshelves are already full enough, so having a Kindle works for me. I try to read when I’m not writing and vice versa, but life slips in between. A girl can dream, right?
I’ve learned so much about the blogging world by reading about it in my free time. You’ll read about everything from creating content, design, social media and so much more that will help you get ahead of the game. I would recommend taking notes as well; I have a whole binder dedicated to notes on top of Amy Lynn Andrews Knowtbook. I’m literally drowning in information! I LOVE IT! 😀
Hope this helps you! If you’ve got any book recommendations please lemme hear ’em!
