Hillside Cemetery in Whitewater Wisconsin

It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I decided to take a month away from blogging to focus on aspects of my life that needed a little work. Apologies for not announcing my departure, May was a really tough month for me and I needed a little r&r.

Once I arrived back home in Texas things started looking up,  and had some quiet time to emotionally process what’s been going on. It came out of nowhere for me, and I’m sure I will write about it in detail soon.

Hillside Cemetery

Wisconsin was my home from March to the end of May, and unfortunately I didn’t pull out my camera as much as I wanted. We discovered a beautiful cemetery in Whitewater that needed to be photographed, or I would have had lifelong regrets.

The winding roads within the cemetery were only big enough for one vehicle. They were also quite dangerous with no guard rails on steep hills, which is why some of them were marked with “Do Not Enter.” It looks a little horror movieish, yeah?

The larger tombstone in the center caught my eye because it was the only one the light was focusing on. The smaller tombstones formed a circle around it. Several tombstones were set up like this, I’m not sure why. Does it mean something?

The entire place was beautiful overlooking the water, and you could see downtown Whitewater right across. Stunning while the sun was on it’s way down.

Photos are a flat thing. I tried giving the shots enough life as possible but nothing really compares to seeing this place in person. The winding roads, the tombstones on the hills, the glistening water and seeing the vintage buildings of downtown Whitewater in the distance. Needless to say, I was mesmerized the day I took these photos.

Hillside Cemetery was mentioned before in my Witches of Whitewater post as part of the town’s Haunted Triangle but I hadn’t visited until recently. My memory card ran out of space and I meant to make it back but didn’t get a chance.

Halloween Shopping Season Is Almost Here

Blogging was missed a ton,  as it seems to be one of the only “constants” in my life.  I’m looking forward to the adventures ahead. Hobby Lobby has already started putting some of their Halloween stock out, my favorite season is right around the corner! 😀
